WEES annually funds small grants for faculty research projects.
Seminar speaker grants
WEES annually offers competitive grants to bring exceptional seminar speakers to campus.
Workshop grants
General Workshops: WEES annually offers competitive grants to help fund campus-sponsored workshops
Capacity Building Workshops: WEES periodically offers competitive grants for capacity development workshops to support the development of large interdisciplinary projects and proposals.
Equipment/Infrastructure Grants
WEES periodically offers competitive grants to help fund the purchase of field or laboratory equipment or infrastructure.
Cost Shares/Supplemental Assistantships
Each year, WEES has limited funding available to provide funding matches in bigger grant proposals and graduate student assistantships for proposals not allowing match.
STATUS: OPEN. Requests accepted at any time; submit at least 15 business days before response is needed. No more funding available for spending in FY2013; requests should be for FY2014 and beyond.
Proposal Support
WEES offers limited support for developing full proposals that have passed the pre-proposal stage or are for renewals of existing successful projects.
STATUS: OPEN. Requests are being accepted for FY2014 through FY2016; submit at least 15 business days before response is needed.
REN Faculty Exploratory Grants
The REN faculty exploratory grants support original and innovative projects in areas related to renewable energy that provide research and solutions to meet future energy needs.
STATUS: Grants for FY12-FY13 research projects have been awarded.
Faculty Hiring Support
WEES may be able to offer limited amounts of startup funds or salary to new faculty whose research is related to WEES objectives.
STATUS: OPEN. Requests are being accepted for FY2015 and FY2016; submit at least 15 business days before response is needed.
Graduate Student Support Grants
WEES is offering small matching grants for graduate research assistants/associates (GRAs) supported on grants in FY2013.
STATUS: Awards for FY2013 have been made.
